Jane Austen, a Summary

Jane Austen was born on the 16 December 1775 and sadly died on the 18 July 1817, was an English author. She wrote many many books of romantic fiction about gentry. Her works made her one of the most well known and loved writers in English literature. She is one of the greats of the English literature industry.\

FUN FACT: Austen was the seventh child of George Austen and Cassandra Leigh-Austen. She was born in Steventon, a village in southern England in 1775.

  • 1811 – Sense and Sensibility
  • 1813 – Pride and Prejudice
  • 1814 – Mansfield Park
  • 1815 – Emma
  • 1818 – Northanger Abbey (posthumous)
  • 1818 – Persuasion (posthumous)
  • 1794, 1805 – Lady Susan
  • 1793, 1800 – Sir Charles Grandison
  • 1815 – Plan of a Novel
